GreenComp Café Series 2026:
Exploring Green Competences for Intergenerational Fairness
Session 4: Sharing of Progress and Practices
The GreenComp Café Series 2026 is a four‑part learning journey designed to bring the Education for Climate community together around one key question: how can sustainability competences support fairer decisions for both present and future generations?
This year’s series is closely aligned with the EU’s 2026 Strategy on Intergenerational Fairness (IGF), creating a space to explore how the GreenComp framework can be applied in practice to support more equitable, future‑oriented thinking across education and professional contexts.
Across four cafés running from April to November 2026, participants have moved from exploration to co‑creation and finally to sharing real‑world practices. The series is designed to build momentum over time, with each session contributing to a collective process of developing and testing practical approaches that can be used in different local contexts.
The first café on 15 April established the foundation for this journey, the second café on 10 June supported participants in forming groups and beginning to design practical exercises, and the third café on 22 July advanced these projects to a stage where they could be tested in practice.
In this fourth and final café on 11 November, participants will return to share their experiences from trying out their projects and exercises in their own contexts. The focus will be on reporting back lessons learned, highlighting successes and challenges, and contributing to a shared pool of practices that can inspire others across the community. This café marks the culmination of the series, bringing together insights from the entire journey and recognising the collective effort to embed sustainability competences in ways that support intergenerational fairness.
