Costa futura

Pupils studied how climate change will affect our coast, our natural ecosystems (beaches, dunes, marshes, etc.) and also our port, houses, apartments, hotels, restaurants and industries. They learnt we all have to act to avoid the natural, social and economic consequences that will result from an increase in sea level of 58 cm in Algeciras, our city, according to NASA, by 2100. Students also learnt what climate change is, its causes and its consequences and what we can do to mitigate it and adapt to it. They had video calls with a scientist from University of Grenoble to discuss about his research, because he is an expert in sea level rise. The final product is a short film (a scientific video) in which pupils explain about their research on our local problem (sea level rise) and what to do to mitigate it.
