🌍 My Sustainable Future: Building the Future with Youth Against the Climate Crisis

The climate crisis is no longer a distant threat; it is a global reality affecting our daily lives. Droughts, floods, biodiversity loss, and plastic pollution are increasing every day. At this point, schools have a huge responsibility. That is why we launched the Erasmus+ KA210-SCH “My Sustainable Future” project. Our aim is to raise environmental awareness among both students and teachers, develop “green skills,” and build a culture of living in harmony with nature,

🎯 Our Project Goals

  • Develop learning and environmentally sensitive behaviors to protect the ecological balance
  • Prevent pollution of water, soil, and air
  • Gain knowledge about renewable energy sources
  • Make the preference for recyclable products a habit
  • Increase climate literacy among students and teachers

🌱 Our Activities

  • 1. Fundamentals of Ecological Life (Türkiye)

  • This event in Mersin focused on the 3R rule (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle) with workshops led by students and teachers. Ecological institution gardens were established in school greenhouses, and the “Don’t Consume, But Generate” workshop highlighted ways of producing instead of consuming. Participants also cleaned the beach where Caretta caretta sea turtles nest, directly contributing to biodiversity conservation

2. Moving the Classes Out (Spain)

In the natural beauty of Spain, students experienced learning in nature. They created musical instruments from waste materials, conducted a biodiversity exploration in the Lumbier Canyon, and highlighted low-carbon mobility with the “Bike Day” event. Through eco-art workshops, creativity and environmental responsibility were combined

3. We Share Eco School Experiences (Poland)

In Poland, Eco School practices were shared with all partners. Students participated in geopark tours, forest walks, and botanical garden visits to explore ecosystems. During the “Green Talks” sessions, they discussed environmental issues and strengthened their ability to make informed and responsible decisions against the climate crisis

🤝 Why It Matters

The “My Sustainable Future” project contributes not only to the transformation of students but also to teachers, families, and the local community. Thanks to the project:

  • Young people gain green skills,
  • Teachers develop new methods for learning in nature,
  • Local communities and institutions become more environmentally conscious.

These efforts are in line with the Paris Climate Agreement and the European Green Deal, helping us take concrete steps towards sustainability.

🌿 Looking Ahead

Each activity shows that small steps can come together to create big changes. Our students are not only part of nature but also future leaders who will protect it.

We strongly believe that a sustainable future is only possible if young people start building awareness today.
