Last week, the GreenComp community met once again to continue its learning experience and talks with the authors of the GreenComp.
During this second café, hosted on October 4th, we addressed Envisioning sustainable futures together with Ulrike Pisiotis, policy officer at the European Commission and one of the authors of the GreenComp Framework. We have highlighted the importance of developing the capacity to think of the future beyond our life and our kids' lives - similar to the way numerous indigenous groups think.
We have therefore addressed future literacy, adaptability and exploratory thinking, underlining the need to stress how fundamental is to underline the here/there and now/then. By developing these competences, learners will be able to compare among past and present scenarios as well as distinguish between the characteristics of different cultures and educational systems.
In this meeting, we focused mainly on indigenous knowledge compared to Western educational systems; however, this exercise can be replicated comparing other cultures and educational systems.
How interesting! I was not able to attend. It is possible to get further information? Are you planning a follow up on this topic Envisioning sustainable futures. Thanks!
