GAD Campaign local event

Global Action Days (GADs) is a two-week campaign where anyone can register and take part in impactful actions and disseminate their involvement through the Foundation for Environmental Education (FEE) social media channels. The aim is to show that simple, positive local actions (HandPrint) can collectively create a bigger impact. Institutions from across the world, including those involved in FEE programmes, such as Eco-Schools, Eco-Campus, Young Reporters for the Environment (YRE), Learning about Ecosystems and Forests (LEAF), Blue Flag, Green Key and also beyond the FEE Network, took part in these two action-packed campaign weeks. The campaign took place from 22 April – 6 May 2026. This year’s theme was about celebrating food security in all its colours, cultures, and stories and discovering how every plate, every bite, as everyone has the power to take part in the transition towards healthy and sustainable dietary behaviour. Throughout the campaign, FEE invited educators, learners and communities to explore how food connects people and the planet through five creative, hands-on activities.

It mobilised people across 139 countries through3,623 settings (schools, kindergarten, Higher education) reaching a total of registrants of 380,731. Participation was predominantly from educational settings, highlighting the campaign's strong engagement across FEE's education programmes.
