What is the call about?

The Education for Climate Day 2024 will happen on the 28th of November this year under the theme of "Climate Resilience: Preparing for the Future".

We urgently need well-curated practices in climate education. To transform climate education, we must learn from each other's work.

What are we looking for?

Following the inspiring lab debates during the Policy & Practice Forum 2024 , we are looking for contributions in 3 thematic areas.

For each theme, we are curious: Do you run or host an innovative green education project?  Then tell us and share your actions with the community!

Capacity-Building for Learning Communities within the Twin Transition

Enhancing the knowledge, skills, and attitudes in (g)local communities and stakehholders to navigate and work together for the dual challenge of digital and green transitions, across disciplines and (b)orders.

Do you work with (learning) communities / in civic education? Then this is for you.

Specifically, how can long-term learning communities be established and supported, and what role do policy interventions and local, face-to-face collaborations play in this process?

Additionally, how can education policies be transitioned into actions and educational initiatives be kept personal yet replicable?

Learning Scenarios for Green Competences

Implementing learning scenarios that embrace the development of green competences in manifold ways.

Do you work with educators/ learners to build up their green competences? Then this is for you.

Specifically, what are effective learning scenarios that can foster the development of green competences in both formal and non-formal education settings?

Additionally, how can interdisciplinary approaches be integrated to address green challenges and promote green skills across various sectors?

Learners' Access to and Educators' Use of Science-Driven Climate Education

Leveraging scientific knowledge to create equitable and effective climate education practices in teaching methods and learning applications.

Do you work with scientists / evidence-based approaches / citizen science? Then this is for you.

Specifically, how can science and data be made meaningful for climate education, and what are good practices for supporting a systems thinking approach in both education and scientific learning practices together?

Additionally, what strategies can be employed to create scientific educational materials that are accessible and engaging for students and easy to use for educators?

How to submit your action?
