We carried out a series of nature-based activities with individuals with disabilities, focusing on the development of green skills, fostering a meaningful connection with nature, and promoting nature literacy with the collaboration of ADALYA NGO in Antalya Türkiye. Throughout these sessions, we designed and implemented sensory-rich experiences in nature to support the cognitive, emotional, and sensory development of participants with special needs.
On different days, we engaged with a diverse group of individuals with various types of disabilities, tailoring the activities to meet their unique needs and capabilities. These nature-based learning experiences included hands-on exploration, guided walks, sensory games, and creative activities that encouraged observation, interaction, and a deeper appreciation of the natural world.
The overall aim of our work was to make nature more accessible and inclusive, while also helping participants develop key life skills such as communication, cooperation, and environmental awareness through direct engagement with natural environments.
