Murat Kantarcı BİLSEM has taken its place on national and international platforms with its sustainability-based education models and student projects as of the 2024-2025 academic year.
The institution, which aims to raise awareness on climate change and sustainability issues and to raise individuals who develop solution-oriented approaches to environmental problems, has taken steps to adopt the green transformation approach in education.
Murat Kantarcı BİLSEM integrates environmental, social and economic sustainability at the curriculum and management level and carries out studies in line with UNESCO's Green Curriculum Guidance and Green School Quality Standards. In this context, the "Entrepreneurship Workshop for Climate Change and Sustainable Development Goals" project conducted by Çelebi Kalkan, one of the teachers of the institution, was deemed worthy of the "Climate Action with Creative Thinking in Education" award within the scope of the Global Institute of Creative Thinking-Awards 2024.
This project, which supports only 10 projects from each continent and a maximum of 2 projects from each country, also earned the right to receive grant support.
On the other hand, Murat Kantarcı BİLSEM students, the only school selected from Türkiye within the scope of the European Green Week (EU Green Week) 2025 events organized by the EU, carried out student studies with the theme of circular economy under the coordination of teacher Kalkan.
Kalkan, Scientix STEM Turkey ambassador within the scope of the 2025 STEM Discovery Campaign organized by Scientix, was deemed worthy of the Scientix Organizers Award with the event "Shaping Our Sustainable Future with Engineering" organized on March 4, World Engineering Day.
Thanks to this award, the school has become one of the institutions shown as an example in the fields of STEM and sustainability worldwide.
In line with these studies, Murat Kantarcı BİLSEM aims to spread the transformative power of education in the fight against the climate crisis by taking part in the international Greening Education Partnership led by UNESCO.
