Embodying sustainability values

Last week, we met for the last café before Christmas to conclude our informative talks with the autohrs of the GreenComp Framework, addressing embodying sustainability values.

During this gathering together with Guia Bianchi, we not only underlined once again that this competence area is linked to the others, but we also stressed the importance to develop competences on all the aspects that sustainability encompasses.

We therefore talked about valuing sustainability, supporting fairness and promoting nature. These competences are representing the social and environmental elements in sustainability. In particular, supporting fairness is about promoting equity and justice (social element), while promoting nature is about developing empahy towards the planet and other species (environmental element).

We also underlined the need to shift narratives towards sustainability values in a much faster pace than ever before. In this light, we inquired if storytelling is an additional competence to bear in mind when developing and using green competences.
