It is crucial to build skills and competences to live and work more sustainably. The Commission has developed a sustainability competence framework (GreenComp), to help learners and educators form knowledge, skills and attitudes towards a fairer, greener economy and society.

The interactive session at the EU Regions Week will introduce GreenComp and give participants the opportunity to dive deep into how it is used in different contexts through a participatory game and prep cards for lesson planning.

Thank you so much to all those who have participated in our session last Thursday!

Here, you will find the impressions of our participants: https://miro.com/app/board/uXjVNclRqWw=/

During this session, we not only had the chance to play once again together the "Sustainability conversations: the GreenComp game", but we invited participants to play a new card game "Scaffold" combining all competences framework developed until now.

A short summary of the key insights of Sustainability Conversations:
- it is fundamental to focus on learning activities around sustainable cities and communities as it is one of the SDGs which may be less considered in a teaching perspective. (Plus, it was also good that this was the general topic for the Eu Regions Week);
- Develop competences now to have sustainable cities in the future is key;
- this should be accompanied with stricter and stronger links between education and science. Developing knowledge, skills and attitudes of future generations are key, but this also involves science in the process;
- in this light, the group considered that - to achieve SDGs and strengthen the E4C innovation areas, all GreenComp competences are key, which a special focus on promoting nature, future literacy, collective action, individual initiatives and political agency and systemic thinking.
