Calculating our personal carbon footprint might be the best way to estimate our own impact on global warming.
A new calculator has been developed by nosgestesclimat.fr. It is a climate-centric tool, and it comes in French and English. Over a million tests have already been completed from what they say. The questionnaire is rather long with many questions, maybe more than many other calculators around, even with questions about pets, hobbies, and services...
I think it can be a very useful tool that can easily be used with students to engage in a conversation on our individual impact on the environment and raise awareness on our behaviours and consumption patterns.

The Joint Research Centre of the European Commission has also developed such a Consumer Footprint Calculator, allowing you to also calculate your consumption footprint as well as to evaluate how changes in your lifestyle may affect your personal footprint. It considers five areas of consumption, namely food, mobility, housing, household appliances, and household goods.
