A giant Sequoia is burning.  1/5th of California's giant sequoias have burnt down.

National Geographic dedicated a whole issue to the global state of forests, with lots of early access to research results.    Beautifully done.  "If only people knew how bad climate change already is..."

Buy a copy, and leave it on your coffee table.

I live not far away from Cazorla, Segura y Las Villas, one of nicest nature areas in Spain, declared Biosphere Reserve by the UNESCO in 1983.
It's a great place to spend time with the family or friends and "recharge one's batteries.”
