The event will involve the students of Urban Planning enrolled in the course of Building Engineering and Architecture of the Department of Civil, Building and Environmental Engineering of the University of Naples Federico II.

The event will be organised as a three-month laboratory, as part of Urban Planning course activities, and students will be at its core. Their task is to identify vulnerabilities, exposure, and hazards to climate change-related phenomena for Naples (Italy) and potential opportunities for increasing resilience. Policymakers, researchers and citizen communities will be invited to present the different points of view of the actors involved in the governance of urban transformations to mitigate climate change and adapt cities to irreversible climate change.

Students will work in groups, focusing on selected topics (mobility, waterfront, etc.). The output of the activities (infographics, maps and projects) will be presented in an open exhibition.

The main expected outcome of the event is to raise awareness of future engineers, architects and urban planners, in order to gear their work towards climate change mitigation and adaptation. The final exhibition aims to promote expected outputs to citizens and policymakers to disseminate at the local level knowledge about the climate crisis.
