Scouting and preparing for this Saturday

The sky in me challenge resonates deeply with me.

It brings to the forefront what tiny part(icles) of the world we are in the grand scheme of things - and how interconnected this world is on so many (invisible yet traceable) levels - and all its ambiguities, (grey) shades.

While reflecting on a location from where I'll be joining the challenge this Saturday, I deemed the busy channel towards Antwerp very fitting: it is a literal waypoint of global economic connection that, as you see on this picture, looks pragmatically efficient and still "beautiful" for the eye of the passing observer.

But like 'the sky in me' attemps to make visual the hidden environmental complexity in the print - through the collected carbon particles that are present during taking the picture - this channel image holds more meaning to it itself, too.

Below the waters: plastic pollution is rampant.

Beyond the constant passing of cargo ships: there's  hyper globalisation with all its SDG repercussions.

Beyond the silent horizon, like in yesterday's case: there's storm - i.e. more intense and more frequent weather extremes - waiting.

What interconnected particles would you like to highlight next Saturday with your horizon image when you collect a literal particle snapshot via the mask at the same time?

>> Are you already prepared, too?

>> Do you know from where you will participate?
