How to approach AI and climate change in learning communities | Youth Climate LAB 2

We are pleased to announce you that the second season of the Youth Climate LAB: "How to approach AI and climate change in learning communities"!

 

What?

The Youth Climate LAB is a peer-learning world café where young participants can engage with peers, explore an existing climate-related issue and propose practical solutions that can be implemented by interested stakeholders. In each season, participants will have the opportunity to meet experts and gain an in-depth knowledge of the season's topic.

This season will explore how AI can be embedded in learning scenarions. The goal is to build practical recommendation and co-design a pilot learning scenario, showcasing how AI and climate change could be approached in learning communties.


When?

As participant, you will meet five times before 2024 summer break, resuming the conversation afterwards to draw conclusions and prepare the Education for Climate Day(s) 2024.

  • First session: 29th February 2024

This episode will introduce the topic. With the help of an international expert, you will explore advantages and disadvantages of AI in climate-related issues as well as opportunities and how to approach it in learning scenarios.

  • Second session: 25th March 2024
  • Third session: 18th April 2024

These two sessions will focus on knowledge formation, exploring how to transform teaching around AI and climate change into knowledge and skills for a sustainable future - with a special focus on disinformation, foresight and useful AI tools.

  • Fourth session: 23rd May 2024 

Here, you will focus on how to translate previous discussion into practical and efficient recommendations.

  • Fifth session: 27th June 2024

In this shorter session, you will have space to start drawing conclusions, indetifying the most valid recommendations and learning scenarios.

  • Sixth session: September/October (date to be confirmed)

This is the opportunity to revise with a fresh mind your recommendations and co-design the pilot learning scenario.

  • Seventh session: Education for Climate Day(s) 2024 in November (date to be confirmed)

As conclusion of this LAB, you will have the opportunity to present your conclusions to interested stakeholders.


How to participate?

To express your interest, please fill in this form by 27th February 2024.

 

Who we are looking for?

- participants between 16-26 years old interested in investing time and meeting peers in the upcoming months to explore this topic.

AND

- teachers working in green education & AI that would like to support this exercise, suggesting one (max two) representatives from their classes, who will participate in this LAB. As teachers, you will also be able to join this season as auditor.
