The message from this event is that all schools have the potential to set up Energy Communities that can fund renewable energy for their buildings, lower energy costs for schools, lower carbon emissions and still give a return to investors who fund the work, that are often higher than you can get from a bank.
It is time we had schools across the EU Learning from what the AURORA project is doing. Our latest example in Madrid has raised €140,000 and is now about to install solar panels on the roof of the school and two air source heat pumps to keep students cool in summer. School children will also see the power being generated each day on display screens in the corridor of the main school buildings. The school is in a working class area of Madrid and is not wealthy. If they can do it so can you !!!
