The type of personal information collected on the platform depends on how visitors are interacting with the platform and services used.
- Public content of the website is accessible without giving any personal information.
- Personal data are required in order to provide specific e-services.
In order to carry out the processing operation the Data Controller, i.e. EC JRC S.2 collects the following categories of personal data:
EU Login - needed to create an account on the platform
personal data provided by creating an EU Login account (managed by data protection record DPR-EC-03187 for the Identity & Access Management Service - IAMS)
Community platform - any other personal data provided voluntarily by creating an account on the platform
• First and last name*
• Profile image
• Contact details (e-mail address*, education institution [type], country)
• Expertise, interests, languages, educational background, professional background and experience (like role/ function in education, education level/sector)
The provision of personal data as marked with an asterisk (*) above is mandatory to meet co-designed community requirements of being able to identify peers transparently in a trusted and safe environment.
If you do not provide your (mandatory) personal data, possible consequences are that your account on the platform will be frozen after 1 reminder that is not followed up with appropriate action, i.e., provision of mandatory personal data, within a month.
Otherwise, the provision of personal data is not mandatory and visibility preferences can be set.
