If you're interested in learning for sustainability, you'll be hard pressed not to come across the name of Professor Daniella Tilbury. Daniella is a policy expert, an educator and a true change agent who contributed to the initial frameworks on education and learning for sustainability and who continues today to inspire sustainability transitions and climate-positive futures around the world.

As she tells us about her journey into sustainable education, we understand that sustainability is not just a subject but a new way of learning and teaching and that this idea has been transformed into concrete actions along the way, but that it still faces challenges as education systems are sometimes still a little reluctant to fully integrate the transversality that sustainable education implies.

Daniella believes that today we should pay particular attention to monitoring and evaluating what we do, not for the purposes of comparison, but for learning and moving forward.

QUESTIONS:

01:55  Can you share with us your journey into sustainable education?

08:40  How things have changed along the way, and what did you/we learn?

12:50 What do you see as the challenges facing the education community in the area of ESD? How can they be overcome?

15:40 What should be our priority today when it comes to green education?
