Ana Belen Yuste Martinez and her students, Saúl Romero and Justo Murillo, explain in this TALK the details of their project, GLUP-GLUP, that won the second prize of the call for innovative green education actions launched last year by Education for Climate.

The mobile application they developed aims to raise awareness among the population, the App generating a notification when a person is located in an area that will be flooded by the sea in the year 2100. By clicking on the notification, the app takes you to a web page designed to provide more information about climate change.

Being a biology and geology teacher from the Spanish secondary school IES Consaburum in Consuegra, Ana developed this interdisciplinary project with her colleagues and 16 proud students, in full collaboration mode, in order to promote awareness raising about long terms effects of the environmental challenges we are facing, but also to promote important skills, such as creativity, leadership and communication, all “skills for the XXIth century” as Ana puts it.
