This talk gives the floor to Manuel Bordoy who is the deputy secretary general of the European Schools. These schools are true international schools with thousands of students across the EU learning in primary and secondary schools fully multilingual and multinational.

Education for sustainable development is among their official objectives and they recently engaged in the cocreation of a complementary course on sustainable development and active citizenship to which the Education for Climate Coalition and the Joint Research Centre have given support.

Manuel Bordoy has promoted and accompanied since its beginning the development of this special course and he explains its rationale and specificities in this very interesting exchange. There is plenty to learn here.

01:15 What are the European Schools, their organisation and missions?

04:50 What is the rationale behind the actions led by the European Schools to strengthen the green competences and embed sustainability in the schools? Is sustainable education a priority for the European Schools?

09:40 A new complementary course on Sustainability and Active Citizenship has been recently designed by the European Schools. Can you tell us more about it (objectives, organisation, etc)?
