The “Agence Française de Developpement” (AFD) Group implements France’s policy in the areas of development and international solidarity.

The Agency has recently released two studies on climate change education, and the researchers who are behind them are sharing the outcomes with the EducationForClimate community.

Pr. Benjamin Raphael Quesada, climatologist, Professor and Director of the Earth System Science Program at Universidad del Rosario in Bogotá-Colombia is the co-author of the first study: “Climate change education effects on worldwide schoolchildren and their entourage”.

Pr. Cesar Mantilla, economist, currently a Professor at Loyola Behavioral Lab from Universidad Loyola Andalucía in Spain, is the co-author - with a team of researcher from the GATE-CNRS (University of Lyon) - of the second study: “Climate change education from the perspective of social norms”.

Some heavy food for thought. And one bottom line: we need to continue to investigate and assess what works and what does not work, and draw conclusions by sharing and building on research findings. This is the only way to continue to make collective progress.

Questions:

02:40 Can you briefly present the AFD and tell us what was the policy rationale behind the 2 studies commissioned by AFD on climate change education?

05:00 Can you share with us the main Results of these 2 studies?

14:30 What are the next step? What are your suggestions based on your results?
