The Guardian is one of my most trusted sources of climate change news. They are funded by the Scott Trust Foundation, not by the carbon lobby. In contrast, Musk received "financing from Saudi Prince Alwaleed bin Talal Al Saud and the sovereign wealth fund of Qatar".
In the twitter article the Guradia reports that climate scientists are moving to Mastodon. Mastodon is a distributed version of Twitter. Instead of one company controlling all the servers, everyone can run their own server, and they all work together. Indeed the European Union started our own Mastodon Server.
Personally I have found Mastodon to be a brilliant source of climate change information. @Snoro@Mastodon.social toots the most amazing stream of climate change news in English and French. My account @UncensoredNews@Mastodon.Social is more focused on recommending climate change videos. It is very hard to find good ones. I follow a rapidly increasing number of climate activists.
I encourage everyone to get off of US corporate-controlled and carbon-lobby-funded social media. It is not just me. The EU Parliament Backs ‘Urgent’ Calls to Address Climate Disinformation
As a group we can be at the center of the solution to this problem.
