Supporting the conservationists of tomorrow: Teaching young people basic coding to save the oceans

What if learning to code could help students build tech skills to balance the world’s ocean ecosystems?

EY, in partnership with Code.org and Microsoft, is promoting ocean education through the application of AI, machine learning, and coding.

This exciting collaboration provides two computer science modules, AI for Oceans and Simulating Marine Ecosystems, that are supporting the conservationists of tomorrow by teaching them how basic coding and AI can contribute to saving our oceans.

If you are an educator or student interested in using these modules, please visit the following link and feel free to share it with your network: https://code.org/oceans?linkId=229476616

The initiative is part of the EY Ripples program, that has set an ambitious goal to positively impact the lives of millions of people through the use of technology for social good.

Enjoy!

Kind regards,

Vassilis

Vassilis, thanks for sharing this great material. The "games" in which we have to program AI to identify "fish" or "trash" or teach AI to learn which objects should be in the water..., in fact, all of them are AMAZING!!! 👏👏👏
I'm looking forward to starting classes and using "AI for Oceans" with my students
