The TECCHED Project (https://tecched.eu/) is a higher education Erasmus Plus project addressing the training of pre-service secondary teachers. The project seeks to help teacher trainers increase the knowledge and awareness of climate issues and to integrate digital tools into teaching about climate change.
The project has 5 universities and 2 NGOs as partners.
TECCHED has published a Learning Platform which includes a review of teacher trining curricula, an interactive book and a catalogue of digital learning resources useful for climate education.
The tools there include visualisations to interpret climate patterns and impacts, climate simulations and games to explore climate change topics, as well as multimedia training resources in the form of an e-book.
Using the tools from this platforms can encourage personalised learning pathways, with resources and tools enabling users to grasp complex concepts like greenhouse gases, biodiversity loss, and renewable energy.
TECCHED encourages integrating real-time data and case studies, so that theoretical knowledge can be connected to practical solutions.
The Web site is designed for educators and students, the platform fosters climate literacy, critical thinking, and actionable insights, empowering learners to adopt sustainable practices and contribute to global climate action.
