WHAT A DAY !

Thank you once again for all your inspiring insights, conversations and energy around education for environmental sustainability that sparked last week during our first community-driven Education for Climate Day

All in all, we had around 1200 attendees via WebEx, streaming and social media channels - students, teachers and stakeholders from across the EU and beyond to join us for this platform's launch.

Thank you for being so many sharing the passion for education for climate!

What was it all about?
watch – and share! - our little video recap right now

What was it like?

‘connection and commitment’, ‘inspiration’, ‘empowerment’. Exactly this is what the Education for Climate Day, the Education for Climate Coalition, is all about.

The sentence that summarizes it is the advice that all the participants gave: it was ‘together you stand stronger’ - together as a as an initiative. So your initiative has to be made up of multidisciplinary teams, but also you need to work together across Europe to make your initiative scalable; also to be able to leverage with your local government or national government that something needs to be changed. And yes: students need to be central in all of this.

It is a community-led exercise. It's not top-down. It's your commitment, your creativity, your ideas who will make this a success. And after this Day, I think we can all be very, very optimistic.

I would say that this is only the tip of the iceberg. I would say what we have heard today is that there is a wealth of activities, of initiatives, of tools available out there. So there is actually now a great opportunity to learn more, to re-use and also to get inspiration to evolve in a joint way.

I think joining forces is really the thing which we need to do and not to work alone on these huge tasks. And I think that if we do things together on the platform, using the platform, there seems to be no limits.
