Why this challenge?
For the first time ever, secondary students will have the opportunity to learn in depth about the environmental crisis we all are facing through a 2 year-long academic programme.
The presented programme proposal relies on many years of extra-curricular activities driven by engaged students in the European schools.
The course would be proposed to all students without any prerequisites in other subjects. However, it is aimed at students who are concerned with the full range of current environmental issues and who wish to develop a systemic understanding of the bioclimatic crisis. The course is particularly suitable for students wishing to undertake postgraduate studies in environmental sciences, geography, biology, humanities, etc.
The programme has 3 main priorities:
-
developing a systemic understanding of the crisis,
-
enhancing civic engagement of students,
-
fostering entrepreneurship.
Built around 4 areas, the course is organised according to a progression allowing the acquisition of in-depth knowledge during the first year. The second year is entirely dedicated to the elaboration of a transdisciplinary project allowing the mobilisation of civic engagement and social entrepreneurship skills.
