In the spotlight
Join us next week: Education for Climate Days 2022
At stake: climate resilience. Our method: community co-creation. Our field of action: education for sustainability.
Together, let's find innovative #education solutions for the green transition.
Register for the #EducationForClimate Days 2022 next week and exchange with a vibrant community. We are looking forward to seeing you all there!
Inspiring green education projects
The Education for Climate Coalition is immensely happy to nominate "Germinar um banco de sementes" [Sprouting a seed bank], “GLUP-GLUP”, and “EkoEksperymentarium, play and be part of the change” as selected projects of the call for innovative green education actions.
Out of the 37 high-quality submissions we received, they have shown all of us how creative, participatory, multidisciplinary and playful concrete learning actions for the green transition can be.
They illustrate the spirit of the community – tangible yet demanding ambitions to make the dreams of a better future together a reality, beyond the classroom.
Nevertheless, this is also an appreciation of the other 34 projects: it was no easy undertaking to find the little differences in the so many inspiring projects we received, letting shine through all your driving ambitions for participatory climate education.
Featured challenges
What is the water temperature at your sea, river, lake, pond, …?
Community, it’s your map – so we need your measurements!
Teachers and students from any education level can measure & report water temperatures all over Europe to co-create our common school map, highlighting what impact climate change has.
Join our science action phase of the community challenge "Be a scientist! Mapping climate change at seas & coast" and own your map!
participate (practical details & support)
Which climate education resource(s) do you use/ recommend/ know of?
From curricula over materials to activities, from digital engagement resources over physical guidelines to (a)synchronous tasks. Let's bring together the wealth of our collective knowledge & experience and build an overview of climate education resources for the community.
This challenge is constantly open. You can share your resources and links/ impressions at all time.

The interactive session aims at peer-learning & capacity-building for real change via the community, inviting new members to join & engage. We aspire to not only to talk, but to walk!

ALDEA: Recapacicla
The ALDEA programme is an Environmental Education Programme for the educational community, developed by the Regional Ministry of Education and Sport and the Regional Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock, Fisheries and Sustainable Development of the Government of Andalusia.
It's a programme that aims to promote the integrated development of environmental education initiatives in the current climate emergency situation, to foster the connection with nature and the renaturalisation of spaces. The relations of human beings with their social and natural environment (eco-social competence) will be the "backbone" of the development of any line of intervention. The programme is based on the four educational pillars proposed by UNESCO: learning to know, learning to do, learning to live together, and learning to be as four fundamental types of learning.
