Envisioning Sustainable Futures

Envisioning sustainable futures is about visualising alternative futures scenarios and identifying actions to achieve them. 

By becoming comfortable with the notion of multiple futures, learners not only acknowledge the uncertainty about the future as a given, but also the impossibility to know what will happen - and thus the idea of trying to control what will happen. It involves identifying probable, alternative and preferred futures to influence and shape the trajectory towards a (collective) preferred future.
