Community Cafe - 2025 Priorities

Over the course of 2024, we engaged with the community through multiple touchpoints, gathering insights on key priorities for 2025. These priorities are now identified.  You can learn about them and find out how you can both benefit from and help with their development as we work together towards a sustainable and inclusive future.

Explore the priorities

If you want to help shape the future of climate education, join our next Community Café on 19 February at 16.30! This collaborative space will bring together our advisory group, country group coordinators, and all community members who wish to contribute to co-design the next concrete steps for the Coalition, based on our new 2025 priorities.

Featured challenge #1

Debating solutions to water contamination: a role-play game

The Joint Research Centre's (JRC) water laboratory has just published the role-playing game on water pollution with which the Education for Climate community was associated.

Caterina Cacciatori and her colleagues have indeed developed a role-play game on debating solutions to water quality contamination based on participatory democracy principles.

It is designed to engage students (aged 16-18 years) in a debate to find solutions to water quality contamination issues. It is inspired by the Model United Nations, and based on the principles of participatory democracy laid out by the Council of Europe.

By playing this game, teachers and students will foster their critical thinking, public speaking, and debating skills, while learning about environmental issues, in particular on water, and the role of science in policy-making.
