Dear community,

Last year, we called on you to get to know which innovative green education projects you implemented in your learning environments.

The outcome was inspiring: you shared soo many good practices and project examples with the community that all let shine through your driving ambitions for participatory climate education.

So, this year, we are happy to repeat this call within the framework of the European Year of Skills and our focus on boosting green competences.

This community call concerns our shared need for curated good practices in climate education where we ask ourselves "How to implement green education solutions & what is already out there?"

Taking the three vividly engaging Policy & Practice labs forward that happened during this year's EducationForClimate Policy Forum, we are happy to launch this year’s call on three themes:

Boosting Green Competences and Education Transformation in and for

  1. Lifelong Learning

focuses on how to integrate sustainable development and climate action into education and training systems & explores how different actors, including learners, educators, trainers, and policymakers, can collaborate to develop and implement relevant competences and skills

The Lifelong Learning Lab

  1. Social Economy

explores the role of social economy actors in the transition to a green society & focuses on how we can better link education with industry expertise to contribute to the development of green competences and skills (mapping and matching)

The Social Economy Lab

  1. Digital Innovation

focuses on the intersection of digital innovation and green competence development & explores how digital technologies can be leveraged to support the development of green competences and skills, and how to ensure that digital innovation supports sustainable development goals

The Digital Innovation Lab

For each lab theme, we are curious: Do you run or host an innovative green education project?

Then tell us and share your actions with the community!

From all submissions, we will select three projects per theme that will be part of a European community showcase session to leverage your work during the Education for Climate Day 2023.

And among those three selected per theme (see criteria below), each one will get one exciting prize, up to the winners' preferences:

  • come for a travel-funded visit to Brussels during the European Education Summit at the end of November 2023 & meet and greet other participants
  • be the featured spot in and EducationForClimate TALK
  • get a digital workshop with a Joint Research Centre scientist

Plus, a community praise goody: the community entry with the most likes will be part of our COP28 online session.
