In the spotlight
Thank you, goodbye and hello!
As you might know, the Education for Climate Day 2024 took place online on Thursday 28 November.
We want to say thank you to the more than 2,000 people who joined us from 76 countries!
You can now rewatch the event online and share your impressions with the community as we think about future common actions.
Rewatch the event
This 2024 community celebration was the last occasion for the current Secretariat to engage with all members as a new chapter awaits the Coalition in 2025.
After four inspiring, intense, and cherished years, the current Secretariat at the Joint Research Centre warmly welcomes the new Coalition Secretariat under the leadership of the Directorate-General for Education, Youth, Sport and Culture of the European Commission.
They are excited to co-design new futures with all of you! It is now time to meet for a last time and say…

2025 Community Priorities
Over the course of 2024, we engaged with the community through multiple touchpoints, gathering insights on where the community is heading to conduct a thematic saturation analysis to determine 2025 community priorities.
These priorities are now identified. You can explore them and see how you can benefit from and contribute to their development, as we work together towards a sustainable and inclusive future.

Education for Climate TALKS of the month
Sulitest: Mainstreaming sustainability literacy, ft. Jean-Christophe Carteron and Aurélien Decamps
In this TALK we try to understand why and how higher education plays a key role in the development of the green competences, but also how we need and concretely can assess these competences, notably by using TASK™ – The first international certificate of sustainability knowledge that was among the 12 case studies of the compendium of case studies implementing the GreenComp.

Learning for Sustainability and Digital Education: Synergies, Challenges, Opportunities – ft. Deirdre Hodson and Sarah Descamps
This TALK focuses on the relationship between the two transitions affecting our societies and affecting the training and education sector in particular: the green transition and the digital transition.
These two transitions are often presented as twin transitions, precisely because they have points in common and need to be tackled together by the education community. However, tensions may also exist, and it is on this point that a recent study by the European Commission focuses.

Join the AI in STEM Challenge
Science on Stage, an educational initiative for STEM Education active in 35 countries, invites teachers and their students to become part of the ‘AI in STEM Challenge’ by getting creative together and developing their own AI projects. The idea is for the students to identify a regional or global challenge, explore how AI can help solve this problem, and then design, code, and refine an AI application with their teachers.
